Where to have brunch on a budget in Madrid

The Toast Cafe

The Toast Cafe is a lovely breakfast and brunch restaurant with lots of mirrors and lots of light, where visitors can enjoy delicious meals from morning to night.

The Toast Café serves omelets, French toast, pancakes, burritos, bagels, croissants and more. The brunch menu at The Toast Café is 16€ per person.

The Toast Café is located at Calle de Fernando el Católico, 50 in the neighbourhood of Gaztambide, and is open from 9:30 am to 1:30 am.

Carmencita Bar

Carmencita Bar is famous for its great hamburgers, like the one with blue cheese and crispy bacon, the one with cheddar, spicy ranchero sauce and a fried egg, or the one with provolone cheese and fried green peppers.

Brunch is served at Carmencita Bar from Friday to Sunday between 12 am and 4:30 pm. Some of the dishes on the brunch menu are French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon, eggs benedict with salmon, avocado or crispy bacon, and a plate of bacon, sausage hash browns and fried eggs.

Carmencita Bar is located at Calle San Vicente Ferrer, 51 in the neighbourhood of Universidad. It is open from 12 am to 5 pm and 7 pm to 2 am from Tuesday to Friday, 12 am to 2 pm on Saturday, and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

Little Big Café

Little Big Café is a small café owned by friends Max, from the Philippines, and Cris, from Spain. Breakfast at the Little Big Café is served until 12:30, offering toasts with a variety of ingredients like avocado, marmalade, honey and Iberian ham, artisan yogurt, porridge and sandwiches.

After 12:30, visitors can choose between snacks and dishes like hummus with a variety of breads, guacamole, special popcorn, avocado cream, and delicious sandwiches like apple with brie and caramel, roasted pumpkin with goat’s cheese, and quinoa burger.

Little Big Café only serves brunch on the weekends, with dishes like French toast with bacon and agave syrup, eggs Benedict, yogurt with fruit and muesli, and oatmeal biscuits. The brunch menu at Little Big Café costs 18€ per person.

The Little Big Café is located at Calle de Fernández de los Rios 61, close to the Toast Cafe in the district of Chamberi. Opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 9 am and 8 pm, and on Saturdays and Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm.
