Like other parts of Spain, Madrid has seen a growth in the number of people from other European countries choosing to live there. Some come for work others to study, but many have just chosen to retire there. As part of the expat community you have the opportunity to meet new people in Madrid. You could of course just go to your local bar, but why not do something a little different.

Meet people from around the world

You will of course find plenty of people who speak English. But if you want to experience what it is like to live in Madrid then you need to look beyond your local bar. Groups that offer meet and dance Madrid allow you to learn to dance whilst at the same time meet new people. Not everyone you meet is going to be Spanish. You’ll find that these types of dancing groups have quite an international gathering.

Of all the things you can do in Madrid today Meet & Dance is proving one of the most popular. The event takes place every Monday night at 22.00 and here you can learn how to Salsa, Merengue and Bachata. The group is made up of people from around the world.

The classes are held at the Independence Club in Calle Doctor Cortezo. It is easy to get to simply take the metro to either Tirso de Molina or Sol. Then it is a quick walk to where the club is.

Salsa Dancing For BeginnersTo enjoy meet and dance Madrid turn up around 15 minutes before the class begins and pay your 5€. For this you’ll not only get a dance lesson, but also a free drink. The class lasts for a total of 2 hours.

The first hour is the one where you will have a lesson provided by professional instructors. As for the second hour this is where you have the opportunity to let your hair down as you have an hour of free dancing. Throughout the lesson you’ll be given the chance to meet some really lovely people.

During the second hour as well as being able to dance alone if you want, you have the opportunity to learn more advance dancing moves. Then when midnight strikes, things move up another notch. This is when the International Party starts. You have the choice either to go home or like so many others you’ll have the chance to party the night away for free.
