This location is absolutely perfect to have a lovely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/where-picnic-madrid\/\"><strong>picnic<\/strong> <\/a>with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bosque Encantado is a botanical garden with hundreds of different plant species, and besides this, you can also dream away at the soothing sound of its streams and waterfalls.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You have probably already been to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/retiro-district\/\"><strong>Retiro<\/strong><\/a>, which is one of the city\u2019s hallmarks, and maybe you have even rented a boat to discover every corner of this pond from the water, but have you also visited its viewpoint? This special location can be found inside the tower that commemorates Alfonso XII.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Madrid has many municipal parks and gardens, but <strong>Quinta de la Fuente del Berro<\/strong> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/madrids-salamanca-district\/\"><strong>Salamaca district<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 which is at least half a century old \u2013 is considered to be one of Madrid\u2019s most important historical gardens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can see Madrid\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/autumn-landscapes-madrid\/\"><strong>landscapes<\/strong><\/a> like nowhere else from these gardens. They are also a good starting point to visit some of the most spectacular monuments. Or have you already been there maybe? This is truly a location that will leave you speechless, having been constructed within the original stone arcades and with a surface of 360m<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It used to be a winery in the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century, where they stored more wine jars than you can imagine. It has now become a fascinating place for commercials, presentations and other events, and it is even a film shoot location. One very charming and unique place is in the <strong>Guinness Book of<\/strong> <strong>Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are talking about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/worlds-oldest-restaurant-madrid\/\"><strong>the oldest restaurant in the world<\/strong><\/a>, which is still open for business today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It first opened its doors at the beginning of the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century, and it is now visited by both locals and tourists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The restaurant is called <strong>Bot\u00edn<\/strong>, and it is such a classic that it even appears in the famous literary work by <strong>Benito P\u00e9rez Gald\u00f3s<\/strong> (<strong>Fortunata y Jacinta<\/strong>). Some of the restaurant\u2019s specialties are a lamb and roasted suckling pig. It is prepared the old fashioned way, in a wood-fired oven.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you travel to the town of <strong>Torrej\u00f3n de Ardoz<\/strong>, east of Madrid, you will find a very special place called <strong>Parque Europa<\/strong>.
