great museums to visit in Madrid that houses some of the <strong>world&#8217;s greatest works of art<\/strong>. \u00a0But there is one place you may not have heard of that also exhibits master pieces is Circulo de Bellas Artes. \u00a0This is because it is in fact a <strong>private art<\/strong> organisation and is now Europe&#8217;s foremost one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This particular organisation was created in the latter part of the 1880&#8217;s by a selection of artists who lived in the city. \u00a0Since its <strong>foundation<\/strong> a number of the world&#8217;s leading artistes have passed through its doors. \u00a0 Along with Piccasso this has been home to the novelist <strong>Ram\u00f3n Jos\u00e9 Sim\u00f3n Valle Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>. \u00a0Plus the dramatist Jacinto Benavente who won\u00a0the <strong>Nobel Prize<\/strong>\u00a0also graced its hallways.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_17 counter-hierarchy\">\n<div class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since the decision to declare this a centre for the <strong>Protection of Fine Arts<\/strong> in 1921 it has become an important venue. \u00a0 As well as being a place of study it houses a number \u00a0of conferences and workshops. \u00a0Plus of course it is home to more than 1200 <strong>paintings, drawings, ceramics and\u00a0sculptures<\/strong>. \u00a0Also it is home to a large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/funny-temporally-exhibition-en-la-casa-encendida-madrid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collection<\/a> of periodicals and documents related to the world of art. \u00a0 Included within this area is a collection of more than 3,000 books owned by the gallery owner\u00a0<strong>Juana Mord\u00f3<\/strong> who died in 1984.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"circulo-de-bellas-artes\"><\/span>Circulo de Bellas Artes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Throughout the year the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circulobellasartes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Circulo de Bellas Artes<\/a> organises a variety of different events. \u00a0It has become renowned for its various concerts, theatre and dance productions. \u00a0Plus each year during the main Madrid carnival it is here where the most famous of Spain&#8217;s fancy dress party&#8217;s take place. \u00a0Each year it holds the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.circulobellasartes.com\/espectaculos\/carnaval-desnudo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Baile de M\u00e1scaras de Carnaval<\/a><\/strong>, a masked ball with live music and DJ&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But it isn&#8217;t only what is contained with in this building that is of interest to many who visit the city. \u00a0 The building itself is of considerable architectural interest. \u00a0In fact in 1981 it was delcared to be of national historic and <strong>artistic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/best-place-to-watch-the-sunset-in-madrid-temple-of-debod\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monument<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0The building which stands out from the buildings beside it because of its multi layered facade was designed by the renowned architect <strong>Antonio Palacios<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Circulo-de-Bellas-Artes-Roof-Top.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3967\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Circulo-de-Bellas-Artes-Roof-Top.jpeg\" alt=\"Circulo de Bellas Artes Roof Top\" width=\"276\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>After spending time enjoying the exhibits why not enjoy a spot of lunch in the cafe. \u00a0Here you can enjoy a lovely selection of tapas dishes in what used to be a members only club. \u00a0 As well as serving great food at lunch time enjoy the cafe&#8217;s less formal atmosphere in the evening as well. \u00a0Why not enjoy a bite to eat after taking in one of the many programmes that are on offer in the evenings from 5.30pm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also if you wish you can take in the amazing views of Madrid\u00a0from the buildings top terrace. \u00a0To have access to this a small fee is charged but it enables you to walk around the roof of the <strong>Circulo de Bella Artes<\/strong>. \u00a0Allowing you to enjoy some truly spectacular views of this amazing city.<\/p>\n<div
