But having guests can be a little overwhelming, especially in a city you are still getting to know. That way, you can tell them where to go and what to see if you have to work or have other obligations. If you need a moment alone, it\u2019s easy for you to run home quickly and unplug. Lastly, they want to see where you live &#8211; that\u2019s why they\u2019re here! Let them see your neighborhood and have a taste of your everyday life.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"do-some-prep-work\"><\/span>Do some prep work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If your <strong>parents<\/strong> arrive and you have nothing prepared, you will appear selfish and a bit lazy. At least put together some restaurant ideas or some <strong>sights<\/strong> you want to show them. My parents were my 4<sup>th<\/sup> visitors so I consider myself a pro at this point. I typically get some recommendations from Spanish friends, do some googling and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/madrid-free-activities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cruise some blogs<\/a>. It\u2019s especially great if you\u2019re young and love to party. Guess what? Your parents aren\u2019t and they <span style=\"color: #000000;\">don\u2019t.<\/span> Take them outside of the city on a day trip and show them what other parts of Spain have to offer. I took my parents to Segovia for cochinillo at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.restaurantejosemaria.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jose Luis<\/a> and to see the amazing aqueduct. But your parents are tourists and you need to play into it a little. You may have to swallow your pride\u00a0and do some things you vowed to never try, like posing with a statue, or having a drink in Plaza Mayor.\u00a0But it&#8217;s all in good fun, even if its a bit pricey and cheesy.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My <strong>visit<\/strong> with my parents was an amazing experience full adventures, ups and downs, and a few mini frustrations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Have your parents come to visit?
