Madrid<\/strong> is well known by gay people<\/strong> for its social acceptance and its free spirit, and has an abundance of gay clubs and bars where the LGBTQ community can gather and enjoy a night out.\u00a0 The downtown area of\u00a0Chueca<\/strong><\/a> is the main area for the LGBTQ community in Madrid, close to Calle Hortaleza, a very popular commercial street, and Malasa\u00f1a, the new trendy area in the city. By day or night, Chueca<\/strong> is a very lively area. Gay bars<\/strong> are usually not busy before midnight and gay clubs\u00a0<\/strong>usually start pumping around\u00a02 am. There are a variety of different gay-focused clubs and bars<\/strong><\/a> in the city to enjoy on a night out. When it comes to bars, LL Bar<\/strong><\/a> has two floors with two very different atmospheres.\u00a0Downstairs, it is a quiet bar and upstairs, you can enjoy their famous drag shows. You can find it at\u00a0Calle de Pelayo, 11. Another option is\u00a0D\u2019Mystic<\/strong><\/a>, a very popular gay lounge bar\u00a0<\/strong>in Madrid. During the week, you can chill and have a drink<\/a><\/strong> with some friends, while during the weekends people come around midnight to drink before hitting the dance clubs. At\u00a0D\u2019Mystic<\/strong>, the staff is always nice and the crowd is always relaxed and cool. This spot is at\u00a0Calle Gravina, 5. Our last bar recommendation is\u00a0La Kama<\/strong><\/a>, one of the most popular\u00a0gay bars<\/strong> in Madrid. This bar, located atCalle Gravina 4, is small but very nice to go have a drink while enjoying to house and disco music. La Kama\u00a0<\/strong>is very popular, which means it usually gets quite busy.<\/p>\n

If clubs are more your scene than bars, don’t worry – you’ll find a great selection of gay nightclubs<\/strong> in Madrid.\u00a0Delirio<\/strong><\/a> is a small bar and dance club<\/strong>\u00a0which is open 365 days a year. If you want to go out during the weeknight, this is the perfect place to go. Head over to\u00a0Calle Libertad, 28 to dance the night away. If you prefer dancing during the weekend, go to DLRO Live<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0the bigger version of Delirio<\/strong>. It is a large dance club<\/a> <\/strong>which opens during the weekend. Look for promoters in the streets to receive some free tickets. DLRO Live<\/strong>\u00a0is located at\u00a0Calle Pelayo, 59\u00a0and is open from Thursday to Saturday and during the holidays. Lastly,\u00a0Sala Cool<\/strong><\/a> is a large gay dance club<\/strong> located near Plaza de Espa\u00f1a and Gran V\u00eda. People from all ages get together at Sala Cool <\/strong>to dance and enjoy the music. Don\u2019t miss their\u00a0Churros con Chocolate<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0event on\u00a0the first Sunday of each month, a gay event to dance and sing Spanish pop songs. It starts at 6 pm and ends at 2 am, and fun performances are always scheduled during the evening. Sala Cool<\/strong> is located atCalle Isabel La Cat\u00f3lica 6.<\/p>\n
