Parque del Capricho<\/strong> is located at Paseo de Alameda de Osuna, 25. This park is very close to Madrid airport<\/strong><\/a> and it lives up to its name: it is a place with lots of nature, with historic gardens and green areas that are perfectly maintained<\/strong><\/a>. The park covers \u200b\u200b14 hectares and its development was authorized for by the Duchess of Osuna, who ordered it to be built between 1787 and 1839. You can also find a civil war bunker there that served as a hiding place, and although unfortunately it is not accessible at the moment, it has several underground tunnels. The park can be visited almost every day of the year and until recently it was not even that well known. Although more and more people have discovered this peaceful gem of nature now, it is still a quiet place. If you want to get away from the center to enjoy nature, to disconnect or to practice your favourite sport<\/strong><\/a>, this park is the ideal place. The best-known park in the capital, however, is probably El Parque del Retiro<\/strong><\/a> (Plaza de la Independencia, 7) and this park should definitely be on your list. It is one of the largest parks in the city and without a doubt it is the most important park. It is a must-see for tourists, but it is also the place where many locals come to spend some time outdoors. The park is famous for its lake, the crystal palace, the menagerie and its statues, but it is also well-known because it hosts numerous events, such as the Madrid Book Fair <\/strong>(or Feria del Libro<\/em>). It is truly a magical place and very close to the center of the city.<\/p>\n

It is now an enormous park, full of terraces, fountains, playgrounds, green lawns, gardens and bridges, on both sides of the Manzanares River. It must be one of the most favourite places to practice sports for Madrid inhabitants, although it is also perfect for a quiet walk, or to sit calmly in front of one of its beautiful fountains and waterworks. Finally, the last suggestion is Parque de la Quinta de los Molinos<\/strong>\u00a0at Alcal\u00e1, 527. This park is located in the area of San Blas, and it is a park with history. Apart from its green areas and gardens, it has two important elements: the old mill to which it owes its name, and the pathways surrounded by almond trees. It is usually a quiet park, but in spring many people find their way to the park to enjoy the colours and the wonderful smell of almond blossoms.
