The Faro de Moncloa is located at Avinguda Arco de la Victoria 2<\/strong>, near the metro stop of Moncloa<\/strong>. It is a lighting tower that was built in 1992, coinciding with the designation of Madrid as the European Capital of Culture. The tower has panoramic elevators that run a 92-meter journey and transport visitors to the central dome, in the highest part of the tower, where you can see spectacular views<\/strong><\/a> of Spain’s capital. Going up to the viewpoint of the Faro de Moncloa<\/strong> is an unforgettable experience<\/strong><\/a>. Allow yourself to take some time absorbing the many monuments through its huge windows: the Palacio Real<\/strong><\/a>, the Catedral de la Almudena, the building from Telef\u00f3nica on the Gran V\u00eda, the Cuatro Torres… and focusing on the background, you will start to see the summits of the Sierra de Guadarrama. You can buy your tickets to the viewpoint on the ground floor of the lighthouse, and you can take advantage of your visit to the lighthouse by also discovering other monuments and places of interest in its surroundings. The opening hours of the tower are from 9.30 am to 8 pm from Tuesday to Sunday<\/strong>. (the last elevator ride is at 7:30 pm<\/strong>) The lighthouse is closed on Mondays.<\/p>\n

The first place we recommend visiting is located in the vicinity of the Faro de Moncloa<\/strong>. It is the Museo de Am<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>rica<\/strong>. This museum is specialized in collections from different cultures of the American continent, and it has unique pieces of great historical-artistic value. The museum is located at Avinguda de los Reyes Cat\u00f3licos 6<\/strong>, near the metro<\/strong><\/a> stop of Moncloa<\/strong>. The opening hours are as follows: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm<\/strong>, Thursdays from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm<\/strong> and Sundays and public holidays from 10 am to 3:00 pm.<\/strong> Another very interesting museum to visit near the Moncloa Lighthouse, is the Museo del Traje<\/strong>, the Costume Museum. Take a journey to the sixteenth century by observing history through its clothing. It is located on Avinguda Juan de Herrera 2<\/strong>, and the closest stop is the Ciudad Universitaria<\/strong>. The opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm<\/strong> and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm<\/strong>. As you can see, Madrid offers many possibilities to enjoy the city, and one of them is the Faro de Moncloa and its nearby museums.
