{"id":922,"date":"2013-12-15T15:59:21","date_gmt":"2013-12-15T14:59:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/?p=922"},"modified":"2020-10-26T14:04:57","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T13:04:57","slug":"madrid-fusion-2014-cuisine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/madrid-fusion-2014-cuisine\/","title":{"rendered":"Madrid Fusion 2014, Urban Cuisine on the Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the beginning of next year, the cultural agenda in the Spanish capital features Madrid Fusion, a \u201cgastrofestival\u201d full of tastings, courses and culinary events, a unique opportunity to firsthand learn about and experience the gastronomy of Madrid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Held between January 24 and February 9, 2014, at the Palacio de Congresos del Campo of Nations, the XII edition of the International Summit of Gastronomy Madrid Fusion, will offer visitors and residents of the Spanish city a series of events for those who wish to taste and enjoy extraordinary cuisine mastered by some of the best chefs in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event, which is organized by \u201cMadrid Destiny,\u201d in collaboration with \u201cMadrid Fusion,\u201d is aiming to enhance the quality and variety of the gastronomy in Madrid, merging the sights and culture of the city with culinary art.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Food celebrations will be presented through 300 activities divided into five topics: \u201cSensory Experiences,\u201d \u201cGastro-Culture\u201d, &#8220;Gourmet Madrid&#8221;, &#8220;Gastro-Fashion&#8221; and &#8220;Gastro-Health.&#8221; These are five different approaches under the concept, in an effort to combine gastronomy with disciplines such as painting, cinema, photography, theater, literature and music.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year, Madrid Fusion includes a new topic: Taste Spain, sponsored by Facyre, dedicated to traditional cuisine, presenting all the greats of Spanish cuisine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another event is the classic \u201cDegustatapas,\u201d where you can find restaurants with menus at \u20ac25 and \u20ac40 and the spectacular \u201cDinner with the Stars,\u201d a chance to taste the creations of international chefs at some of the best restaurants in Madrid, at a fixed price of \u20ac75.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finally, on your schedule you should also add, &#8220;Greedy Route&#8221;: a journey through some of the best bakeries in Madrid, which is also accompanied by the path of \u201cColombian coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is the 12th Madrid Fusion which brings the latest creations in Spanish cuisine staged in the country\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the 17 master workshops, the audience can interact with chefs: Joan Roca, Pedro Subijana, Pepe Rodr\u00edguez Rey, Jordi Cruz, Andoni Aduriz, Paco Torreblanca, Sacha Hormaechea, Quique Dacosta, Nandu Jubany, Pepe Solla, among others, who will reveal their secrets discussing culinary creativity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tickets are available online at: http:\/\/ivent.xeria.es\/xcli\/Mfusion_2014\/preregistro_en.aspx<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, this is not completely a Spain\u2019s issue, as over 100 famous chefs from around the world are expected to take part in a rather international food festival inspired by the city\u2019s life, history and culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Madrid-urban-cuisine-2014.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-923\" title=\"Madrid urban cuisine 2014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shmadrid.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Madrid-urban-cuisine-2014.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a>This year\u2019s creations will focus on Madrid\u2019s urban aspect. \u201cInspiration is in the Street\u201d would trigger the imagination of the participants to come up with plates that could fit with what you can experience every day walking, working or living in Madrid, but with a touch of the extraordinary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Large cities (Istanbul, Bangkok, Lima, Washington, Tokyo, New York, Paris, Buenos Aires, Mexico) and small cities (Bruges, Gerona, Agrigento) will inspire the great chefs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interestingly, this subject was also addressed at Gastronomika San Sebastian, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sansebastiangastronomika.com\/en\/Home\/Index\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.sansebastiangastronomika.com\/en\/index.php<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A large number of participations from Latin America countries may indicate that a blend of different tastes and aromas will finally characterize this year\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parallel to Madrid Fusion will take place Enofusi\u00f3n, an exhibition of exquisite wines bringing together more than 100 producers.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"\n    class=\"kk-star-ratings kksr-valign-bottom kksr-align-center kksr-disabled\"\n    data-id=\"922\"\n    data-slug=\"\">\n    <div class=\"kksr-stars\">\n    <div class=\"kksr-stars-inactive\">\n            <div class=\"kksr-star\" data-star=\"1\">\n            <div class=\"kksr-icon\" style=\"width: 20px;
