Yes, Madrid is loaded with festivals during spring/summer season, but this one is a little bit different. Mulafest 2016, happening on the weekend of June 24 to 26, is an eclectic event dedicated to urban tendencies that will feature several activities and exhibitions that you won’t find in the average festival.

Every night at Mulafest is a non-stop party, with 12 hours of the best electronic music on the planet. Odesza, Gramatik and SBTRKT are just a few of the names that promise to rock your socks off. Sunday night is set to be particularly colorful, with a Holi Party (get ready to be blasted with a lot of paint powder) followed by DJ sets.
Urban Art
Mulafest will feature several art installations and exhibitions in the categories of illustration, sustainable art and emerging artists. These are the result of contests promoted by the organizers as a way to stimulate urban arts and offer visibility to creatives of different areas.
Garage
If you are a motorhead, you’re going to like this. The Garage part of the festival’s program focuses on motorcycles and classic cars, with different exhibitions and initiatives such as a gallery of bike art and a custom paint workshop.
Island Kalise
When you feel like taking your shoes off for a bit, head for Island Kalise. A 2.000 m2 beach space with Balinese beds, beach bars, and great ambient music, it is the perfect place to take a relaxing break, have a beach drink, eat an ice cream or enjoy quality street food. It’s also the place where the Holi Party happens on Sunday, as well as numerous other activities throughout the weekend.
Urban Park
This is a space dedicated to skateboarding, slackline and underground sports. Challenge yourself or watch the pros in fantastic exhibitions that will show you how different athletic skills can adapt to busy city surroundings.
Scene
Scene is all about dancing. Whether it is the climatic scene in a Bollywood film, the neighbourhood boys breakdancing or a circus artist defying the laws of physics, body movement is one of the arts that truly embodies urban expression. Definitely one of the most interesting sections of Mulafest 2016.

New Delhi by the way of Madrid is what you get in this part of the program, dedicated to Indian culture in all its different forms, from dancing to gastronomy. Taste oriental delicacies, discover Indian musicians and let yourself be surprised by traditional arts and customs.
