You can find stores with items on sale in pretty much every of Madrid’s neighbourhoods. And besides these stores, there are also many commercial zones in the Spanish capital that attract many tourists, like Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol, Calle de Alcalá or Calle de la Princesa.

At all these places you will encounter different types of shops, from department stores and commercial brands to big chains and even low cost shops.

Today, this article by ShMadrid will tell you a bit more about the season of sale.

We have already mentioned that you can enjoy sale in most of the city’s neighbourhoods, but you can even find shops with huge discounts when you go to the city centre (or Centro). You will see different brands everywhere you go.

Puerta del Sol, Calle de la Princesa, Gran Vía or Calle de Alcalá are very busy streets, and this is where you can shop at some of the big chain stores, like Mango, Primark, Zara, and H&M.

A leading brand in the area for when you want to buy music, books or technological products is Fnac, but there is also El Corte Inglés, which is known for its massive discounts. Besides large (chain) stores, Centro also has a number of shops that offer personal service and nice discounts.

Salamanca

If you are looking for exclusivity, then the district of Salamanca has several boutiques by well-known European designers.

The area has more luxury shops so prices are higher, but when items are on sale, this is your chance to buy something at a better price.

This is, actually, the ideal time to buy quality products without totally having to empty your wallet. Prices in this exclusive area drop with up to 50%. Be sure not to miss it!

Moncloa and Cuatro Caminos

The neighbourhood of Cuatro Caminos is in Madrid’s north, and to get there, you just have to follow the Paseo de la Castellana until you reach the district of Chamartin. In general, this is not a very busy commercial area, although you can still find all kinds of shops selling clothes, shoes, electrical appliances, and electronics.

This area feels more like a small neighbourhood, and it has several general shops and stores.

As for the district of Moncloa, the situation is somewhat similar to Cuatro Caminos, although it has some well-known brand stores, just like in Centro. Moncloa and Cuatro Caminos can be visited by using metro lines 1 and 3. Very close by are also the neighbourhoods of Malasaña and La Castellana.

Large outlet centres

Outlet centres are very convenient because they allow you to find discounted items all year round, but when the sale has started, prices are even better than during the rest of the year.

One of the outlets that attract many people is Sambil Outlet, which is in Leganés. It is currently the largest outlet in Spain, thanks to a surface of 40,000 m2 with shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

There are three popular outlets in Madrid’s surroundings, and this is where you will pay a medium-high price for products. The outlets are: Getafe The Style Outlets, San Sebastián de los Reyes The Style Outlets and Las Rozas The Style Outlets.

Las Rozas Village (which is close to, but a different outlet than Las Rozas The Style Outlets) is most popular, and you can find several luxury brands with items at a very good price because of the discounts of up to 60%.

Outlet Exclusive, at Plaza de la República del Ecuador, is also an option. Fashion stores have discounts of sometimes 80%!

Do you know other good places to go shopping during sale season?
