Everything you need to know about renting a four-bedroom apartment or home in Barcelona

Many people from other nationalities move to Barcelona to turn it into their new home. Also many expats come to Europe looking for job opportunities and Barcelona is one of the most favourite cities because of its benefits. A lot of  large families seek to rent a flat in Barcelona for a temporary or permanent period of time, and therefore apartments with several bedrooms are desired to be able to give every person in the household some privacy. Apartments with four bedrooms are quite common in Barcelona, although there are not as many as three-bedroom apartments, which are usually most demanded for. A four-bedroom apartment is ideal for larger families, for families who live with grandparents or other members of the family, for students who decide to share an apartment, or for people who need to cover their expenses by sharing with other tenants. And as we have already mentioned, there are many apartments with four bedrooms, but it is less common than three-bedroom apartments. That is why the area of your choice will be determinative of the number of apartments with four bedrooms available. It is easier to find four-bedroom apartments in neighbourhoods with larger buildings and more spacious apartments. For example, in districts such as Eixample, where apartments are generally quite large, it is common to find more apartments with these characteristics. Other alternatives are the district of Les Corts, some areas of Horta-Guinardó and the upper area of Barcelona, in Sarrià -Sant Gervasi. All these neighbourhoods with larger apartments are quite expensive, except Horta-Guinardó. Obviously in an area where space is quite scarce, prices of larger apartments tend to be higher.

Advantages of renting a four-bedroom apartment in Barcelona

Renting a large apartment in Barcelona is not complicated, although it might be at a higher price than you had originally budgeted. Basically, the dilemma is that the areas with four- bedroom apartments are usually in expensive areas, as is the case of l'Eixample, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi or Les Corts. But if you want to share an apartment in Barcelona, as is normal for young students, or if you need to share expenses, such as separated or divorced couples or senior citizens who do not want to live alone, it is an ideal opportunity to live in a large apartment in one of the areas mentioned, with all services and at an affordable price. Due to increased rental prices throughout the city of Barcelona, but especially in certain areas, many people choose to share a spacious apartment with others, and even some owners rent out rooms from their own home in order to improve their personal financial situation. This is more and more common these days, and depending on your priorities, you could rent only a room instead of a whole apartment. For example, if you prefer a certain area with a variety of services, with good public transport or because of its exclusivity, rent a room in a shared apartment at a higher price in a neighbourhood like l'Eixample. It may after all be more satisfying, than renting a small apartment in a less exclusive area, with less public transport or not enough commercial shops.
