Your balcony is probably one of the things you pay less attention to, and most of the times its only use is for forgotten plants or as an extra “storage room” for bicycles, scooters or empty butane bottles. And although balconies can be very small, there are always possibilities. A balcony is the ideal place to have your breakfast, read – or listen to – a good book, or enjoy a coffee in good company. We know that balconies can be small and seem useless, but what if it catches some sunlight during the day? Well, then it can be an excellent area to get that glow on your skin. But what if there is no sun at all? You can always use the balcony for some fresh air during the hottest days of the year. But let’s start with a few key elements to decorate your balcony. A perfect setting includes plants or flowers, a table and chairs, and small pots with your own herbs or lettuce. You will be amazed at how easy it is to turn your balcony into a vegetable garden / dining room / sun lounge. Does it still seem impossible to you? Well then, pay attention, because nowadays there are many options for outdoor furniture. If you have a compact space, you can opt for folding outdoor furniture. This is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the balcony, but afther that, you can fold them away to clear the area again. You can also use the balcony walls to save you some space. Hang a pot with a variety of hanging plants or attach a bench to the balcony wall itself, and put some nice cushions on the seating and against the wall. You will be perfectly comfortable. You can also put a trunk on your balcony. Not only will it serve as a seat, you can also use it for extra storage.

One of the most decorative items to make an outdoor space more cozy, is to fill it with plants and flowers. They will help you create the feeling that you are in the middle of nature, designing your own oasis in the middle of the city. If the views you have from your balcony are not that interesting, you can accomplish some extra privacy by placing tall plants or adding fencing material (natural or not) that you can find in specialized stores. If you do not have a lot of space, of course you must be careful not to overload your balcony with decorations, as you could reach the exact opposite effect you want to achieve. With all these tips you must be able now to put your balcony to good use, so do not wait any longer and invite your friend for a cup of coffee on your brand new mini terrace!
