The History of Fear in Madrid

Written by Daniella

Fear is an emotion that is common to every human and it helps to protect you from everyday dangers. Fear is completely normal, and it has served the human species to get to where we are now, without having become extinct. Fear is often subjective though, and some people are afraid of flying, while others love it. Fear of animals, insects and, of course, of paranormal or unexplained subjects are also very common. Today, this article by ShMadrid will tell you more about the exhibition organized by the Cuarto Milenio program, called Una Historia de Miedo that will take place in Madrid.

Cuarto Milenio, presented and directed by journalists Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter, is broadcast on the private channel Cuatro, which belongs to the Mediaset group. This program deals with paranormal and mysterious subjects, such as apparitions, UFOs and extrasensory phenomena. There is also talk of religious or spiritual, strange and historical issues. The program broadcasts content related to inexplicable, mysterious events, unsolved murders, conspiracy theories and technologies or conflicts unknown to the general public. In addition, topics of general interest are also dealt with, mainly from another point of view than the official version. Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter have had extensive experience with this theme, and the program has been broadcast on Cuatro on Sundays for many years now. It is actually one of the longest running programs. The program had already organized a previous exhibition with great success, and it toured across the whole Spanish continent, but now they have returned with a new exhibition, which is completely different from the previous one.

It is a well-designed experience being confronted with some of the characters, ghosts and circumstances, that have filled the mind of the human species with terror. It also offers a selection of pieces by Juan Villa, a sculptor specialized in figures that appear in the program Cuarto Milenio. There will be a completely new activity as well, that the Cuarto Milenio team have never dared to implement before. From the exorcist’s girl to the most terrifying clowns, this exhibition is only suitable for the most fearless or courageous, as it will portray completely terrifying and horrifying images. You can visit the exhibition at the Fandome exhibition centre until July 7. Since the beginning of time mankind has managed to survive as a species by the mere fact of feeling fear and creating a defense mechanism to protect himself from danger. This primary feeling is the basis of this exhibition, which will also have an impressive horror experience that can be seen on a 270° screen, through an audiovisual recreation of the story of an interrupted and unpublished research, that most frightened Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter. Exhibition from May 9, 2019 to July 7, 2019 at Espacio Fandome (C/Duque de Sesto, 27 de Madrid).

Will you visit this horrifying exhibition?
