The first bar we want to share with you is bar Ojalá. It is very likely that big fans of trendy places already know bar Ojalá, the new urban beach bar. With a suggestive name that represents the wishes of its clients, restaurant Ojalá is different from every other bar, as the sand from the beach that covers the floor in one of its dining rooms was brought directly from Almería. It is located on Carrer San Andrés, in Malasaña, and it opened in 2004. This intriguing and unique place also has plants hanging from the ceiling, beautiful lights and a beach bar, with the best and most delicious cocktails. Ojalá has become one of the most authentic places in the district of Malasaña, because it combines good quality food, affordable prices and lovely decorations. You will discover a variety of dishes for every taste on the menu of this restaurant. Another very enjoyable location is Café del Rey, located near La Rosaleda and the Príncipe Pío stop. What makes a big impression here, is its decoration, but also its delicious, modern and light cuisine, based on local and seasonal products. Restaurant Café del Rey offers a very affordable daily menu. It is full of seasonal suggestions, that go great with fresh salads and other specialties, such as Iberian acorn-fed ham, red tuna tacos, and their hamburguesa de la Reina (hamburger). They also serve very tasteful baguettes and sandwiches, which are always of excellent quality.

Our third suggestion is also an urban beach bar, called Cava Baja 5, and this is as authentic as a chiringuito can get… Most of its customers also know this bar as La Playa, because the floors in this bar are covered with a thin layer of beach sand, making it the ideal place to take off your shoes and just relax with a Mediterranean beach in the back of your mind. It specialises in cocktails, you should try their exquisite mojitos, and the atmosphere is very enjoyable and easygoing, which is perfect if you want to unplug regularly. Our last recommendation is La Playa de Lavapiés, located at the popular Carrer Argumosa in the neighbourhood in Madrid that carries the same name. This beach bar breaths the atmosphere of a true beach bar, thanks to its coastal murals with beautiful girls. Of course it also has a lovely terrace, and it is actually one of the most sought after bars in this area. You will find many tasty and healthy snacks on their menu, such as sandwiches, hummus, salads and some very yummy desserts.
