Ice lollies: The amount of nutrients in an ice lolly may vary, depending on the type of ice lolly and the ingredients of which they are made. Another important factor is the production process, that could be responsible for modifying nutrients. Always remember that preparation methods have influence on the properties and nutritional characteristics of an ice lolly, so using a recipe with natural foods results in healthy and nutritious ice lollies. So if you have the skills to press fruit, that is basically all you need to make some delicious ice lollies at home. The key is to add a little water and sugar, although you can also avoid putting in sugar altogether, if you prefer having 100% natural ice lollies. You can also opt for a natural sweetener. If you want to add fruits that are hard to press, like bananas, strawberries, peaches, or watermelons, it is best to blend it first, by adding milk or yoghurt, before pouring the mixture into ice lolly moulds. Horchata: Horchata is one of the most favourite summer drinks in Spain, and it also replenishes the body during hot summer days. It is rich in minerals, such as phosphorus, calcium, magnesium and iron, and horchata has many vitamins, including vitamin C and E. It also provides with enzymes, that improve digestion. Its energy value (100 kcal/100 g) makes it a perfect energy drink, as it also contains only a small amount of sodium. And as it contains only natural ingredients, it does not contain any lactose or gluten.

Fruit Macedonia: This is one of the most tasty and healthy desserts, and it is also a typical summer dessert. You only use seasonal fruits, and the recipe is very simple, so anyone can make this fruit salad. The key to this fruit salad is peeling the fruit (if necessary) and cutting it into small pieces. This fruit salad is perfect, because it is as easy to make and it is also super healthy. The name of this fruit salad originates from the Macedonian empire that was conquered by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC, that can be characterized by its variety of different people and cultures. This fruit salad recipe is one of the easiest ways to have children eat their fruit, but also adults sometimes prefer not eating their fruit in one piece. And if you want to add a slightly sweet and special touch, you can add a little liquor to the fruit mixture, for example some anise liquor.
