The team from ShMadrid would like to inspire you with a couple of original activities for couples in Madrid. These ideas are not specifically meant for Valentine’s Day or your wedding anniversary, but just because you feel like surprising your other half on any regular day.

Today’s article on the blog focuses on what to do in Madrid together with the love of your life.

Lovely activities for couples in Madrid

Of course you should celebrate love every day of the year, but the most important thing is to be together with that one special person in the whole wide world. Spending time together and making memories is what it is all about. An activity can bring you together even closer, which is what we are aiming at today.

  • Going to a rooftop terrace in Madrid to surprise your partner and enjoy the spectacular views is a good idea. It may not seem that special now, but if you put together a special route with some of the city’s best roof terraces, you will score big time.

Ginkgo Sky Bar at Plaza de España in the district of Moncloa-Aravaca is a good place to start. It has incredible views and a glass window looking out onto the plaza.

Another great location is Azotea del Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. It has one of the most trendiest terraces, and you can enjoy drinks together while observing Madrid’s marvellous skyline.

  • How about organizing a surprise picnic in one of the most beautiful parks of the city? There are many places to choose from, and you can watch the sunset together from your picnic blanket, surrounded by flowers and enjoying some strawberries, chocolate and wine.

Prepare a romantic lunch for you and your partner, and pick any of the following fabulous natural spaces in Madrid: Templo de Debod, Parque Juan Carlos I, Retiro, Madrid Río in the district of Arganzuela or Las Siete Tetas de Vallecas.

If you don’t have time to prepare the picnic basket yourself, there are companies who are happy to do that for you, for example: Picnic-Madrid.com. This company offers several options, from a classic to a gourmet picnic.

  • Of course Madrid has many special restaurants for a beautiful evening and a romantic lunch or dinner together. There is so much to choose from: intimate restaurants, venues with a show, fusion cuisine and so much more…

La Elegida, with its refined interior, is on Calle Trafalgar in the district of Chamberí. This is one of the cosiest and captivating restaurants in the city. Another great place to dine out with your partner is Sargo in General Díaz Porlier.

It serves Mediterranean cuisine and has an air-conditioned terrace. If you are looking for more special restaurants, just check Google and make a reservation at the place that looks great and received good reviews.

  • Autocine Madrid RACE is the last couple’s activity we would like to suggest. This is not just a good idea for Valentine’s Day, but around this date they usually do have a special programme with more erotic, sensual and romantic movies.

Visit the website for more information on the schedule, whether you prefer a short, independent erotic movie or a classic movie with Elvis Presley. And remember that going to the drive-in really is very different from a regular cinema. This will definitely be a special date!

What couple’s activity can you recommend when staying in Madrid?
