A relaxed place to take your mother to is Café Murillo. This beautiful place is in Calle Ruiz de Alarcón 27. It is next to the Puerta de Murillo del Museo del Prado, which pays tribute to one of the best-known painters in Spain, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, and it represents delicious Spanish cuisine. This traditional cafe serves Mediterranean bistro food from breakfast to dinner. Run by Eliza Arcaya and Johanna Müller-Klingspor, Café Murillo offers a menu of traditional tapas and light dishes prepared on the grill. When you and your mother are there, you can also choose from their many Spanish wines, and they have a bar of premium quality Iberian products and homemade bread and cakes. Another good option to spend an extraordinary day with your mother is restaurant El Gamo. You can find it at the Real Sitio del Pardo, in front of the Palacio del Pardo, which is very close to the centre of Madrid. The Lorden Rubio family has been running the restaurant since 1980, and it is completely customer-oriented. Castilian-style dining rooms and a beautiful summer terrace attract anyone for a family meal, business lunch, or a meeting between close friends. There’s much choice on the menu, and it is a varied Castilian cuisine, with seasonal products, fresh from the market.

You will find an elegant and interesting restaurant in Calle José Abascal 61, called Poncelet Cheese Bar. Poncelet Cheese Bar is a concept restaurant with artisan cheeses, where the architectural design seeks to create an innovative space, and with the perfect environment to observe while savouring some delightful cheeses from the menu. The restaurant is characterized by its spaciousness, modernity and decorative soberness. It has pleasant and bright colours, which invite you to spend a charming and relaxed afternoon with your mother. The characteristics of the main product of the restaurant, cheese, and its different ways of preparing and consuming, have been taken into account greatly. Finally, we would like to suggest restaurant TriCiclo. TriCiclo was born from the enthusiasm of three chefs. They want to offer the best cuisine to all those who love food and who like to try different products, with a mixture of flavours. The atmosphere at the place is informal, and the service is very personal. Both the dining room team and the kitchen team are made up of chefs, with the intention for customers to receive a full explanation of each dish, and upon request, you can witness the finishing of the dish at your table.

What is your favourite restaurant for Mother’s Day?
