Costillares is one of the quietest neighbourhoods in the city of Madrid, and it is located in the northeast of the Spanish capital.
The neighbourhood was developed in the 70s, when large, residential apartment buildings of up to 22 floors with large open spaces were constructed. Costillares was an example of “developmentalism” during the last years of Francoism, and this can be seen in the famous Spanish film La Cabina, starring José Luis López Vázquez.
